Details
In addition to the familiar 1 oz silver coins, the Canadian Mint has also been issuing an extension of the series in a new format since 2015. With a weight of 1.5 oz, the polar bear is significantly heavier and therefore has a face value of CA$ 8.
As usual, the polar bear is made from 999.9/1000 silver.
The obverse of the coin shows a polar bear with cub. The reverse is adorned with the profile of Queen Elizabeth II.
The coin represents the continuation and reissue of the polar bear in silver from 2013 and the polar fox from 2014.
As with its two predecessors, the Canadian mint is planning a mintage of 500,000 coins.
Each 15 coins will be shipped in a hard plastic tube. Each tube is sealed with a lid and an additional Royal Canadian Mint security seal.
We recommend purchasing whole packaging units to ensure better protection of the coins.
