In 2015, the Canadian Mint issued the Superleaf coin as an addition to the popular series of Maple Leaf coins.
Weighing 1.5 oz the new Supeleaf is heavier than previous coins and has a face value of CA$ 8. Like previous Maple Leaf, it retains the high standard and is made of 999.9/1000 silver.
On the obverse the coin depicts a portrait of Queen Elisabeth II. The reverse shows three intertwined Canadian maple leaf.
The Superleaf is a follow up of the Polar Bear of 2013 and the Polar Fox, issued in 2014.
15 coins are shipped in a tube. Each tube is sealed with a security seal of the Royal Canadian Mint.
