Since 2020, the Perth Mint has been issuing the Lunar Series III, each of which represents the 12-year cycle of the Chinese Zodiac.
For the first time, platinum coins are now also being issued in the series. These are made of 999.5/1000 platinum and are limited to 5,000 pieces each.
2023 celebrates the fourth animal of the third cycle, which is why the coins bear the design of the Year of the Rabbit. The reverse of each coin shows a leaping hare with a turned head. The obverse shows the typical motif of the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
In addition to the platinum coin, gold and silver coins are also produced.
