After the German gold mark proved to be very successful, the Federal Republic of Germany issued German gold euros for the European currency changeover in 2002.
The fineness of all gold euro coins is 999.9/1000.
After the positive response to the 50-euro gold coin "Luther Rose", the Federal Ministry of Finance decided to issue a five-part 50-euro gold coin series. The "Musical Instruments" series will thus appear from 2018 to 2022; the fifth and thus last coin in the series is the concert guitar.
The coins will be produced in equal parts by the five German mints and distributed by the Sales Office for Collector Coins of the Federal Republic of Germany.
