From 2012 onwards, the Perth Mint issued the Lunar Series II with an addition to the series.
Apart from regular coins, 1 oz coins with a privy mark are produced.
Originally, a privy mark was a small mark in the design of a coin for the purpose of identifying the mint or some other aspect of the coin's production.
This special issue of the Lunar Series II was commissioned by BayernLB, which is why the Bavarian lion is used as a privy mark on the reverse next to the yearly design corresponding to the Chinese lunar calendar.
There are several other coins with privy marks available, for example silver Maple Leaf with privy marks using motives of the Chinese lunar calendar.
Still, these coins are products for a niche market.
