Details
The Perth Mint opened on 20 June 1899 at the height of the Western Australian gold rush and played a significant role in the rapid development of Western Australia’s economy.
With an outstanding reputation for quality, craftsmanship, and efficiency, the Mint went on to produce vast quantities of Australian circulating coinage until 1984 and has been a maker of fine gold coins since 1986.
The anniversary coin portrays a kangaroo, a koala, and a kookaburra, reflecting the Mint’s best-known contemporary coin series.
The animals are arranged among branches of golden wattle, Australia’s national floral emblem.
The obverse portrays His Majesty King Charles III.
Production of the 1 oz silver coins is limited to 150,000 pieces.
Besides, anniversary coins are available in gold and platinum.
