For the first time, The Perth Mint released a platinum version of their popular Kangaroo coin which is produced with a fineness of 999.5/1000.
Similar to the silver coin, the obverse shows a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The reverse depicts a „Red Kangaroo“ set against a background of sun rays.
In Australia, the platinum Nugget has legal tender status.
