Due to the success of the gold and silver Britannia, the Britannia platinum coin was introduced in 2018.
Platinum has long been considered the most valuable precious metal next to gold due to its physical properties, such as corrosion resistance and malleability.
The Britannia in platinum is produced with a denomination of 1 oz and a fineness of 999.5/1000.
The design is the same as on the other coins: the Britannia motif can be seen on the obverse of the coin. The reverse is adorned with the half-portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
It is also legal tender in the United Kingdom and has a face value of 100 British pounds.
The silver Britannia is only available in a 1 oz size, the gold coins are offered in denominations of 1/10 oz, ¼ oz, ½ oz and 1 oz.
